Einblicke in Soziale Innovation

What is the future of social impact investment? The Impact Days are an important meeting point for social businesses and investors from all around Europe. We have presented SozialMarie and met some of our winners and nominees.

What is your social impact? Everyone, who has once applied to the SozialMarie had to answer this question. When we ask about impact, we are interested in the effectiveness of the social innovation, on their results, when it comes to having a positive influence on the life of their target group. This weekend our team visited the Impact Days 2022 organised by Mercer and the Impact Hub Vienna to talk about social impact from a different angle. Investors, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and philanthropists came together with the aim to exchange about impact investing.

Equality and inclusion, the climate transition, and how to upscale social enterprises were just some of the many topics of the conference. SozialMarie was part of the session “Financing opportunities for impact innovators”, chairwoman of the Unruhe Privatstiftung, Isabel Albrecht pitched SozialMarie and the benefits our prize has to offer for social businesses. As the vast majority of our applicants are from the non-profit sector, we were thankful for the possibility to reach out to social businesses. They play a crucial role in the social innovation ecosystem in CEE. Our goal is also to connect them to NGOs and projects from the public administration.

From this year’s winners and nominees these projects have joined us at the conference:

The project Feed from Hungary - delivering healthy food to health care workers & combating food waste. They are now also providing cooking workshops for children.

THUS Agency from Austria - connecting creative professionals with NGOs, helping NGOs to present their work to the public

everyone codes gGmbh from Austria - the project helps to reduce unemployment while giving people the chance to start a new professional life by learning new programming languages
