When people work together, they develop relationships with one another as a type of spin-off effect. Manual work provides a good framework for this. In the Heroes Project, firms send their staff to teambuilding workshops where they undertake urgently needed manual work projects in social institutions with the guidance of a specialist. The costs of the workshops cover the costs of the materials. As a result, the social institutions have their manual work projects carried out free of charge and the team members have the opportunity to experience their teamwork in a new way and to think about how they work together over the course of the teambuilding process. The results are positive for both sides. In an uncomplicated way, social work is linked to personnel development activities.
