Outreach health promotion for children and their families affected by homelessness is currently offered in four of Vienna’s Homeless Assistance facilities. The specific range of individual psychological counselling for children, separate counselling for mothers, family, and couples counselling, exercise groups, information evenings and health workshops is customised in cooperation between the residents and the facility’s management team. Each year, the programme reaches about 50 children, mostly aged between 3 and 11. It is hoped that demand for the programme, which far exceeds that number, will be satisfied if the project can be put into regular operation.
