Project Ilica: Q'ART - community art festival

The project addresses challenges like fear, alienation, and ecological threats caused by issues such as social distancing, natural disasters, and economic insecurity. It helps people overcome isolation and builds shared spaces of solidarity and care. The project tackles social crises and trauma through artistic and therapeutic interventions, fostering resilience and community connection in a time of uncertainty.

Art becomes a powerful connector when Q'ART Community ART&CARE engages citizens, artists, and experts in collaborative care and solidarity activities. Empathy and shared responsibility develop naturally through festivals, street exhibitions, and interactive workshops. Social and ecological issues find creative expression through carefully designed platforms that transform fear into resilience while nurturing harmonious relationships between humanity and nature.

Citizens collaborate with artists, experts, NGOs, cooperatives, and various associations within this dynamic initiative. Self-organization characterizes the collective's approach to creating and implementing diverse artistic actions. Vision and logistics remain under the guidance of a dedicated coordination team that ensures genuine co-creation processes involve all participants. While artists and experts provide necessary guidance, their approach empowers ordinary citizens to become community change agents.

Between five and seven large-scale artistic actions occur annually, each engaging approximately 500-600 participants from various backgrounds. Radical inclusivity stands as the central principle, welcoming anyone willing to contribute ideas and creative energy. Social resilience, community regeneration, and collective empowerment visibly demonstrate art's transformative potential. Public spaces undergo meaningful transformation as each action serves as an inclusivity laboratory that strengthens essential community bonds.

Abandoned spaces transform into vibrant platforms for collective action through Q'ART's innovative integration of art, community involvement, and radical inclusivity principles. Communities elsewhere can adapt these participatory models to address their unique challenges. Media coverage has helped disseminate the project's solidarity and resilience message beyond its immediate context. Sustainable development finds practical expression in this successful approach that seamlessly combines artistic practice, community activation, and therapeutic benefits.
