What is it about?

For the first time in Austria, young people with special educational needs regularly attend the 9th to 12th years of a (Montessori) upper secondary school with a focus on science and thus receive continuing education that advances them beyond compulsory schooling. Instruction takes place in the form of team teaching. Students with varying physical and mental disabilities have an individual educational plan to foster their abilities, but otherwise follow the same general curriculum as their classmates and participate in all class trips and school activities. All benefit from one another in the cognitive sphere and in terms of interpersonal relationships.
