In Hungary, child safeguarding policies in sports are often not recognised and enforced. Many parents, coaches and athletic professionals do not know how to identify, stop, prevent, and report abuse. Our programme aims to reach sports organisations working with children, to protecting children and ensurin their safety and well-being.
The NEMECSEK Programme helps sports organisations to develop and implement child safeguarding policies. These policies are aimed at identifying situations where a child may be at risk and investigate cases with the best interest and well-being of the child. The programme aims to raise awareness for both adults and childre, with a primary focus on adults working with children. Additionally, we address children through posters in changing rooms and video messages to help them recognise abuse and learn where and how to get help.
We work with organisations and partner with the Equal Opportunities Commission of the Hungarian Olympic Committee. This year, we will promote our programme beyond the platforms of Hintalovon Foundation and include collaborations with local sports clubs.
NEMECSEK Sport Programme raises awareness of the well-being and safety of children. The program is endorsed by athletes, public figures, and professionals. Through a video campaign and infographics, we aim to promote awareness of child safeguarding in sports, with the goal of preventing abuse and ensuring the safety and well-being of children involved in sports activities.
Safeguarding policies and collaborations (trainings, poster campaigns) with different organisations can be transferred to various causes and the entire region. Clubs can produce their own child safeguarding policies; they can contact us for advice and to work in partnership. These collaborations are 4-6 months based on the club's needs, led by a professional facilitator, staff member, and project manager.
